Welcome the new Greenhouse Manager, Mo Comella

The Business Technologies Division is pleased to introduce the new Manager of the Cincinnati State Greenhouse, Maureen Comella.

Maureen, who goes by “Mo,” graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Management Information Systems.

After graduating, she worked in the consumer products industry for companies including P&G and Sara Lee, and she also worked for Microsoft, where she was on call via pager (!) on New Year’s Eve, 1999, in case of a Y2K emergency. (Those too young to remember can look it up here.)

In 2021, Maureen moved to Ohio to be closer to family, and in Fall 2022 she decided to pursue a career change by enrolling in the Horticulture program at Cincinnati State.

Mo will graduate in May with degrees in Landscape Horticulture and Sustainable Horticulture. During the past year she has worked on the Nursery team at Natorp’s and she is looking forward to using her business and horticulture experience in her new role as Greenhouse Manager.

Mo said she “loves the people and the culture at Cincinnati State” and is excited to join the team.

Mo lives in Fairfield and when not occupied with school or work, she enjoys hiking and volunteering on land stewardship efforts.
