CState students seeking career attire have multiple options
Cincinnati State has several resources available this Fall for students in need of professional attire for interviews or work.
Cincinnati State Career Closet
The Cincinnati State Career Closet allows students to start building their professional wardrobe at no cost. Students who are preparing for a job interview, attending a job fair, or even giving a class presentation that requires professional attire are welcome to “shop” at the Career Closet.
The Career Closet is a donation-based program supported by the Cincinnati State Foundation, the Office of Advancement, and the Cincinnati State AAUP. To make a donation of new or very gently used professional attire, please contact Brian Hooten at (513) 569-1634 or brian.hooten@cincinnatistate.edu.
- Career Closet Location – Main Building Lower Level near Fitness Center (under the Gym)
- Fall Hours of Operation – Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday – 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Dress for Success Styling Event for Women
The mission of Dress for Success Cincinnati is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Dress for Success will be on Clifton Campus on Wednesday, October 5, to provide “Interview Outfit Style Kits” for women students who register by Friday, September 30. This visit is sponsored by the Cincinnati State Career Center and the Cincinnati State Women’s Empowerment Network.
- Style Kit pick-up on Oct. 5 is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in ATLC 102.
- Each client who registers will receive interview-appropriate clothing, shoes, and accessories that volunteer stylists will put together based on client selections on their Style Kit form.
- Every client who receives an Interview Outfit Style Kit is eligible to return to the Dress for Success Norwood Office and receive 10 pieces of clothing or accessories after they gain employment.

The JC Penney Suit-Up Event continues through October 30. Text CINNST to 67292 to receive your coupon and then start shopping, in person at a JC Penney store or online, for professional attire needs.
Suit-Up Event discounts include careerwear, shoes, jewelry, handbags, beauty products, salon services, and professional headshots.
