Condolences to the family of Ray Harmon

Ray Harmon, Professor of Computer Software Development in the Engineering & Information Technologies Division, died Dec. 1 after a short illness.

Ray worked in industry as a computer programmer before joining the Cincinnati State faculty.

After joining the faculty, he redesigned several Information Technology courses, leading to improvements in retention, and he served as a Cincinnati State representative to the statewide Ohio Faculty Senate of Two-Year Colleges.

Ray also was a co-founder of the student Cincinnati State Ambassadors program.

Ray’s faculty colleague Bob Nields said, “Ray was deeply respected and admired by his students. Many students’ lives were changed because of Ray’s passion for teaching.”

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 2-3 p.m. with a service at 3 p.m., all at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040.

The funeral service also will be livestreamed from the Mueller Funeral Home website.

Memorial donations may be made in Ray’s name to the Honor Flight Network.
