Restoration of network systems is progressing

Rapid progress is being made in the technical work and other support tasks needed to restore full use of College online systems like Colleague, MyServices, and other online tools.

College administrators who are leading the restoration efforts continue to express optimism that all employees will have access to Colleague and MyServices later this week. The standard Admission Application Form also is expected to be available this week.

Some services, such as giving students complete access to registration and allowing students to make bill payments, may take a little more time to restore fully.

It’s possible that individuals using some systems that have been restored– such as network printing or network drives (NAS drives)– may encounter a few “hiccups” with tools that aren’t working smoothly. Systems are being brought back online without the option to first search for problems in a technical “test” environment, so it’s possible students and employees may experience some unanticipated problems.

On Friday, Dec. 2, Provost Robbin Hoopes sent an email message to all Fall Semester students with a link to the DualEnroll course reservation system, along with the message that MyServices/Colleague registration process is expected to be functioning again this week.

  • Staff members who are checking and verifying information related to finance/billing operations, financial aid, and Registrar’s office processes are nearing completion of those tasks, which must be finished before Colleague and MyServices can be made available to all.
  • The steps for restoring network access to standard registration processes also include moving information from the DualEnroll temporary system for Spring course reservations. As of end-of-day on Dec. 2, about 1,065 students had used DualEnroll to save their Spring course selections, for a total of about 9,000 credit hours in Spring enrollments.
  • New student applications, currently being accepted using the Paycor system, also will need to be moved into standard systems. As of Dec. 2, about 500 new student applications had been received using the temporary Paycor system. Some of the applications were from new students who plan to start their classes in Summer or Fall of 2023.

Access to the Grading system was restored on Dec. 3. Faculty who are ready to start entering grading information can log in to MyCState/Blackboard, go to the “Tools and Applications” tab, and then click the “Grading” link.

A projected timetable for restoring all systems affected by the outage will be shared when it is available.
