Alumni panel will discuss behavioral health careers on Oct. 20

Cincinnati State students and employees are invited to attend an Alumni Panel Discussion featuring Cincinnati State Associate of Arts graduates who are now working in behavioral health fields.

The panel takes place Thursday, October 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in HPB 04.

Panel members are Rachel Howell (2018), Jasmine McGowan (2017), Sheila Nared (2016), Harrison Perin (2020), and Tim Stone (2019).

Discussion topics include experiences as undergraduates in 4-year programs, working professionally in their fields, and applying to graduate schools.

The panel presentation is part of a team-taught course that pairs PSY 200, Abnormal Psychology, with a Special Project experiential learning course that explores career paths in social and behavioral health.

Other presentations this semester will include:

  • Nov. 8: Rachael Winters, LSW, MSW will discuss her work doing suicide and homicide assessments in an emergency room
  • Dec. 6: Practitioners Panel discussion with area professionals who are working in behavioral sciences fields
