UC Health Air Care helicopter visited Clifton Campus (briefly)

The UC Health Air Care helicopter crew planned a visit to Cincinnati State on July 7, 2026, to assist with a Cincy State class activity, but it was a short stay because the Air Care team had a real emergency to handle.

Just as the helicopter landed in Clifton Campus Parking Lot A, the Air Care team learned they were needed at the scene of an accident in Whitewater Township.

Emergency Medical Services Lab Manager Doug Moore said the Air Care team plans to reschedule their visit to Cincy State. 

Moore thanked all of the Cincinnati State departments and personnel who helped coordinate planning and logistics for the short visit.

A few days before the planned July 7 visit, the pilot and other UC personnel checked out Parking Lot A to be sure it would work as a landing location. Then, College activities to support the visit started.

“It was awesome how everyone at the College did their part so we could have a successful landing for the aircraft,” Moore said. 

In past years, students preparing to be Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in the class EMT 110 (EMT Theory and Practice) took off-campus field trips in order to gain first-hand knowledge from the Air Care team about important life support services. 

EMT class activities include understanding protocols for dispatching the Air Care service, understanding the landing area required, and knowing what to expect when the Air Care helicopter arrives.

The date for another Air Care visit isn’t set yet, but Daily News will let you know when the next helicopter landing on campus happens!
