Public is invited to meet finalists for Cincinnati State’s next President on July 14-16
Three candidates for the next President of Cincinnati State will participate in Open Forums on July 14, 15, and 16, according to an announcement on July 10, 2026, from Jane Garvey, the Chair of the Cincinnati State Board of Trustees.
The finalists are:
- David Ferreira, Ed.D., is the Provost of Charter Oak State College, CT. Previously, Dr. Ferreira served as the Dean of Academic & Student Affairs of Northwestern Connecticut Community College, CT. Dr. Ferreira earned a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Northcentral University; a Master of Arts in Political Science from American University; and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Southern Connecticut State University.
- Robbin Hoopes, M.A., J.D., is the Provost of Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. Previously, Hoopes served as the Dean of Humanities and Sciences at Cincinnati State. He earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College of Law; a Master of Arts in Linguistics from Gallaudet University; and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Akron.
- Marc Singer, Ed.D., is the Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs of Northampton Community College, PA. Previously, Dr. Singer served as the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs of SUNY Sullivan, NY. Dr. Singer earned a Doctor of Education in Distance Learning from Athabasca University; a Master of Philosophy in American Studies from New York University; a Master of Arts in American Studies from the University of Alabama; and a Bachelor of Arts in English/American Civilization from Oberlin College.

Open Forums with the candidates will take place on July 14, 15, and 16, with two 1-hour forums each day.
- July 14 – David Ferreira, Ed.D.
- July 15 – Robbin Hoopes, M.A., J.D.
- July 16 – Marc Singer, Ed.D.
The Forums are in-person events in the Advanced Technology & Learning Center (ATLC) Auditorium (ATLC 211), from 11 a.m. to noon and also from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Both times are open to anyone who wishes to attend.
- All members of the College community are invited and encouraged to participate in the open forums, including all faculty, administrators, staff, and students, as well as College alumni, other friends of the College, and members of the general public.
- Each forum will include a brief introduction of the candidate, followed by a question-and-answer session.
- All who attend will be asked to provide feedback, which will be shared with the College’s Board of Trustees as they interview the finalists and determine who should be offered the opportunity to lead Cincinnati State into the future.
In the announcement about the finalists, Chair Garvey thanked the members of the Presidential Search Committee for their “exceptional insight, work, and effort to reach this point in an extensive national search,” and also expressed appreciation to the entire College community for helping to identify the desired characteristics for the next president.
Ms. Garvey also encouraged all members of the College community to participate in sharing thoughts and opinions about each candidate during the scheduled open forums, saying, “Your continued interest and involvement in the process of identifying our next President are essential.”
