Presidential Search Update: Profile of presidential characteristics is posted

A profile of the desired characteristics for the next President of Cincinnati State is now available, according to an announcement on May 14, 2026, from Jane Garvey, Chairperson of the Cincinnati State Board of Trustees.

Garvey’s announcement thanked all those who attended public forums on April 28, 2026, and completed online surveys that provided input for the Presidential Profile.

A draft of the Presidential Profile, based on survey and forum input, was reviewed by the Presidential Search Committee and then was reviewed and approved by the leadership of the Board of Trustees.

The target date for applications is June 1, 2026.

Dr. Bradley Ebersole from the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) is serving as Search Consultant and will assist the College throughout the search and selection process. ACCT has provided assistance for over 750 community colleges in searches for executive leaders.

In addition to website postings, the position will be advertised in the Chronicle of Higher Education and other major publications. Recruitment efforts will involve an open and thorough national search, seeking qualified candidates from all regions of the country. 

The Presidential Search Committee

The Presidential Search Committee will review the confidential applications, interview semifinalist candidates, and identify the final candidates to be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for consideration.

Open Forums with Final Candidates

All final candidates are expected to visit Cincinnati State in July 2026 to participate in Open Forums with employees, students, and community members. The dates, times, and locations for the Open Forums will be shared after they are confirmed. 

During the campus visits, each finalist will be interviewed by the Board of Trustees. Feedback forms completed by those who attend forums will be reviewed as part of the Board’s final selection process.
