CState prof facilitated science learning for middle school students

Cincinnati State professor Terry Endres shared a science lesson with more than 40 students at Rapid Run Middle School (Oak Hills School District) during a November 2025 classroom visit.

Along with Cincinnati Astronomical Society volunteer John Blasing, Prof. Endres led a presentation about the relationship between the earth and the moon, and other basic elements of understanding the solar system.

Endres said the presentation originally was scheduled for one middle school class (facilitated by teacher’s aide Katy Owen on behalf of teacher Rebecca Johnson), but other Rapid Run teachers asked if their students could participate also.

“The kids were attentive, enthusiastic, and curious,” Terry said.

“With the fast rate of technological change, it’s increasingly important to bring science to the public.– and we had a great time!”
