Cincinnati State’s 2025 Commencement is May 10

Cincinnati State’s annual Commencement ceremony is Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Xavier University’s Cintas Center. The ceremony begins at 3 p.m.
The ceremony will be available for live remote viewing at https://www.cintascenter.com/livestream.
Tickets are required for guests, but not for graduating students or College employees.
- This year, the graduating class includes 1,274 Cincinnati State students who collectively earned more than 1,500 credentials, including bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, or certificates.
- This year’s class includes 24 Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates, 16 Bachelor of Applied Science grads, and 15 high school students who earned associate degrees through the Ohio College Credit Plus program.
- Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval will deliver the Commencement Address.
- The Student Address will be delivered by Sacha Schell, who is earning an Associate of Applied Business degree in Accounting.
- An Honorary Degree will be presented to Manuel Chavez III, business and community leader, Cincinnati State Trustee, and past member of the Cincinnati State Foundation.
- A Distinguished Alumnus Award will be presented to Brandi Ayers (Pre-Business Administration, ’05).
- The platform delegation will include State Senator Catherine Ingram (Ohio 9th District), and Senior Vice Chancellor Gary Cates of the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
- Faculty members who will be recognized during the ceremony include 2025 House/Bruckmann Faculty Excellence Award recipients Dr. Heather Hatchett and Paula Kirch Smith, and 2025 Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award recipients Raymond Ellington, ’85, and Dr. Nicholas Shaver.
