Condolences to Kim Taylor

John L. Taylor, the husband of Kim Taylor (Manager of Alumni and Development Affairs in the Institutional Advancement Office), died on April 19, 2024.

After serving his country in the U.S. Army, John became an elevator mechanic and worked in the elevator industry for 38 years, retiring from Schindler Elevator in Cincinnati. He was devoted to his faith and his family, and during his 25 years of retirement he especially loved being on the golf course with family members and friends.

Elliott Ruther, Chief of Institutional Advancement, noted, “John was always by Kim’s side, supporting her work for the College and volunteering to help with College events like Jingle Bell Rock, 1 Night 12 Kitchens, Commencement, and more.”

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, beginning at 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Fairfield, Ohio, with a Christian Memorial Mass to follow at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in John’s memory will be appreciated by the family in the form of a contribution to the John and Kim Taylor Family Golf Scholarship at Western Kentucky University, c/o College Heights Foundation, 1703 Chestnut St., Bowling Green, KY 42101.
