Cincinnati State “Earth Jam 2024” is April 18

All members of the College community are invited to Cincinnati State’s 24th Annual Environmental Earth Jam, on Thursday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the ATLC Courtyard outside the Overlook Cafe.

In case of rain, activities will move to the ATLC First Floor.

Earth Jam at CState is held in conjunction with the national Earth Day celebration on April 22.

Environmental Engineering Technology faculty, industry representatives, and student Environmental Club members will provide displays and conduct hands-on activities that focus on local environmental issues and solutions.

Some of the participating industry partners include:

  • Citizens Climate Lobby
  • Civic Garden Center
  • Fernald Preserve
  • Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Sewer District
  • Greater Cincinnati Water Works
  • Hamilton County Conservation District
  • Hamilton County ReSources
  • Mill Creek Alliance
  • Ohio Department of Agriculture
  • ORSANCO-FORE
  • Rumpke Waste & Recycling
  • And more!

The celebration also includes music by “That One Party Band Lite,” games, prizes, and lots of fun!

Also, if you want to recycle your eclipse glasses, you can turn them in at Earth Jam to be reused by students in other parts of the world when an eclipse occurs in their area.

Visitors to Earth Jam who are wearing this year’s Cincinnati State Earth Day t-shirt will receive a free plant from the Environmental Club’s booth. The Horticulture Club will be selling plants at the event also.

  • Shirts are $15, and are available from Environmental Club members, from faculty members Ann Gunkel and Ann Fallon (contact info below), or you can buy a shirt at Earth Jam.
  • Cash or checks made out to “Cincinnati State Environmental Club” are gladly accepted, with proceeds used to fund future Environmental Club activities.
