“BIT” team will explain processes for dealing with concerning behavior at Mar. 4 Common Time

During Common Time on Monday, March 4, members of Cincinnati State’s Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) will discuss how faculty and staff members can seek assistance when student behaviors pose safety risks.

This in-person-only event takes place in the ATLC Auditorium (moved from the Conference Center) from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and is open to all College employees.

The mission of the College’s Behavioral Intervention Team is to support and maintain a safe environment focused on student learning and development.

To accomplish this goal, the multi-disciplinary team receives referrals from faculty, staff, and students in response to concerning behaviors. The team performs risk management and, when necessary, offers collaborative, community-centered interventions.

Topics covered at Common Time will include:

  • Who and what is BIT?
  • How BIT works
  • How to file an online report using the newly revised Maxient form
  • Follow-up processes after a report is filed
  • Incident reporting practices
