The Cincinnati State associate degree Nursing program has been awarded continuing accreditation for the next eight years–the maximum length of time that can be awarded–following a site visit by ACEN, the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.

The ACEN site visit took place in early February 2023.

The site visit team identified only two suggestions for improvement: ensuring that library resources for the Nursing program are current, and using a variety of sources for assessing end-of-program student learning outcomes.

Dr. Denise Rohr, Associate Provost of Assessment and Accreditation, congratulated the Nursing faculty for their accomplishment.

“It’s rare for a program to be found completely compliant with the accreditation standards and with so few suggestions for improvement, especially when the majority of the Nursing faculty has been at the College for less than 5 years,” Dr. Rohr said.

Dr. Rohr also recognized the work of Nursing Program Chair Janice Lockett in orienting the new faculty members, maintaining the cohesiveness and quality of the program during a time of change, and preparing the faculty for the accreditation site visit.
