EVT students learned from program graduates during Stormwater Field Day event

Environmental Engineering Technology (EVT) students participated in the Stormwater Field Day sponsored by Save Local Waters on September 21, to learn how developers and contractors are protecting local waterways by applying requirements for sediment erosion control and stormwater best management practices.

Professor Ann Fallon and Co-op Coordinator Jennifer Geiger attended the full-day workshop with the students.

The day started with demonstrations of best management practices, led by experts who shared the newest technologies. Attendees then boarded the Belle of Cincinnati Riverboat for lunch and learning from additional speakers who discussed industry regulations and trends, while the group cruised the Ohio River.

Along with gaining new information, the EVT students had time to network with several CState graduates who were happy to share stories about their careers and the importance of their Environmental Engineering Technology courses.

Professor Fallon said, “Our students enriched their knowledge of stormwater management, and they heard firsthand about the value of an EVT degree. It was amazing to have so many graduates who are now industry leaders sharing career information with current students.”

“I was proud to see the inspiration our grads provided for our current students,” she added.
