Cincinnati State hosted about 700 visitors during the Fall 2023 ENGAGE events on October 5 and 6.

Over 100 prospective students and their family members visited the ENGAGE Community Open House on Oct. 5, and approximately 600 high school students attended ENGAGE Student on Oct. 6.

Sponsors for ENGAGE 2023 were GE Aerospace and ADM.

  • Open House visitors toured displays in the Conference Center and talked to faculty and staff members about College programs and services. Director of Admissions Debbie Poweleit said several future students completed applications for a Spring or Fall 2024 start at CState while attending the Open House.
  • During ENGAGE Student, visitors participated in seven interactive “pathway” sessions where they tried out hands-on introductions to specific majors and career opportunities (see photos below). After lunch, students visited the Conference Center to talk with faculty representing all academic divisions.

Sandi Horine, Lead School Counselor – Grade 12 at Aiken New Tech High School, said, “The ENGAGE day was amazing, and probably the most informative and engaging college trip I have ever taken students on. The faculty and staff sessions were very creative and everything was well organized. It was exactly the information our students needed to know!”

The ENGAGE committee included Yvonne Baker, Gretchen Cook, Larry Feist, Angela Hansel, Soni Hill, Brittany King, Kim McMillan, Jackie Norton and Debbie Poweleit. The Committee sends a big “thank you” to everyone on campus who contributed to making these two events successful.
