Volunteers are still needed to greet and assist new students at Cincinnati State Welcome Days on Saturday, August 5 (starting at 9 a.m.), and Thursday, August 17 (starting at 5:30 p.m.).

In particular, helpers are needed to check-in attendees as they arrive, and for “Navigating our Systems” sessions, where you’ll assist students as they learn to use MyCState, Self-Service (formerly MyServices), SurgeMail, eForms, Blackboard, and Starfish.

The Welcome Day on July 27 was the largest of the summer. Over 135 students attended, and including parents and guests, the total attendance was about 270.

Director of Admissions Debbie Poweleit thanked everyone who has assisted at Welcome Days this summer. and said many participants have shared positive comments.

One attendee said, “So far, Cincinnati State seems to be 100% fit for me and I will be suggesting it to others. I love the friendliness and dedication of the staff.”

During Welcome Day events, new students and their family members can tour campus; visit the Bookstore; meet with Financial Aid advisors; get a Surge Card; and learn about College software systems, student services, and what to expect as a CState student.
