Condolences to the family of Rodney Rupp

Richard Rodney (“Rod”) Rupp, father of Lisa Lucas (Senior Advisor, Health & Public Safety) and a faculty member at the College for over 40 years, died May 29, 2023.

Rod was an inspirational Physics professor who served the College in numerous roles outside the classroom as well. He was the chair of the Physics Department and chair of the Academic Policies and Curriculum Committee for many years, and he provided leadership for many other College initiatives. Rod also contributed his musical talents (primarily as an accomplished trombonist) to support College events.

Rod was a two-time recipient of the House/Bruckmann Faculty Excellence Award, in 1989 and 1994.

• Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, from noon to 1 p.m. at Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel (2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231. Follow the red line after you enter the cemetery gates to the Lakeside Chapel).
• Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m., with a private burial following services.
