Commencement 2023 is May 7

Cincinnati State’s annual Commencement ceremony is Sunday, May 7, at Xavier University’s Cintas Center. The ceremony begins at 3 p.m.

If you can’t attend in person, the ceremony will be available for live remote viewing at https://www.cintascenter.com/livestream.

Tickets are required for guests, but not for graduating students or College employees.

This year, 995 Cincinnati State students will graduate. These graduates collectively earned a total of 1,125 credentials, including bachelor’s degrees, associate’s degrees, or certificates.
Alicia Reece, the President of the Hamilton County Commission, will deliver the Commencement Address.
The Student Address will be delivered by Savannah Cawood, who will receive the Associate of Arts degree.
An Honorary Degree will be presented posthumously to the family of Richard (Dick) Weiland, a Cincinnati philanthropist, lobbyist, and past member of the College Board of Trustees.
A Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented to Ron Rohlfing (’90, Respiratory Care Technology). Mr. Rohlfing is the Vice President of Operations for UC Health West Chester Hospital.
The platform delegation will include Gary Cates, Senior Vice Chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
Faculty members who will be recognized during the ceremony include:
- 2023 House/Bruckmann Faculty Excellence Award recipients Meredith Effler (Humanities & Sciences), and Ann Fallon (Engineering & Information Technologies).
- 2023 Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award recipients Barbara Browne (Engineering & Information Technologies), Don Pollock (Humanities & Sciences), and Kelly Wanstrath (Business Technologies).
