Welcome Gina Wesley, Director of the new Health Simulation Lab

Gina Collins Wesley, PhD, is the Director of Cincinnati’s State’s Health Simulation Laboratory (frequently identified as the “SIM Lab”), which will be opening soon on the first floor of the Main Building on Clifton Campus.

The “ribbon cutting” for the new lab is planned for early March, and a schedule for tours of this unique lab will be published soon.

Dr. Wesley comes to Cincinnati State from Texas A&M University, where she was a Senior Project Manager in the College of Nursing and a faculty member in the School of Public Health. She also was the director of the Medical Simulation Center on Texas A&M’s Dallas campus, where she trained medical and nursing students.

Gina has served as a teacher and administrator in higher education for more than 32 years. She received her MA and PhD in Health Communication & Neuropsychology from the University of Kentucky.

She has conducted funded research projects related to Cancer Screening, Training, Education, and Prevention (Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas), Oral Cancer Early Detection and Intervention in African American Populations (James Graham Brown Cancer Center), and Deterrence and Detection of Biowarfare and Bioterrorism (Centers for Disease Control and the Health Resources and Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services)

“Teaching is my passion,” Gina said. “I’m excited to work with everyone at Cincinnati State and hope you will contact me to learn more about how the SIM Lab can support you and your curriculum!”

Gina enjoys being an empty nester now that her son is a first year student at the University of Kentucky. She has two cats and enjoys reading and studying medieval history.
