Repairs are underway for water damage in ATLC

Jan 3, 2023

Like many area homes and businesses, Cincinnati State’s Clifton Campus experienced damage from water leaks after sub-zero weather in the Tri-State.

Vice President of Administration Steve Morris reported that on Christmas morning (December 25), the police officer on duty discovered damage from water leaks on the fourth floor of the ATLC building. Additional investigation revealed damage on others floors of the ATLC, with the majority of the water damage affecting hallways and common areas.

The Facilities team reported to Clifton Campus on Christmas and was able to contain the leak from the roof area and provide initial clean-up efforts. The College’s insurance company also was notified of the incident on Christmas Day.

Brock Restoration began clean-up processes on Dec. 27, with assistance from the Cincinnati State Facilities team. The Information Technology Services team also assisted in rooms where computers were damaged by the water leak.

All areas that experienced water damage were dried prior to the end of December.

Repairs to ceiling tiles throughout the ATLC will begin today, Jan. 3. The schedule for carpet cleaning, drywall repairs, and other recovery processes will be established this week. It’s possible that some of this work may not be completed prior to the start of Spring Semester classes on Jan. 17.
