Cincinnati State received a grant of $148,355 from the state of Ohio to improve safety at the Harrison and Evendale campuses by installing additional cameras.

A total of 33 colleges and universities received safety grant awards, which were announced by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine in late November.

Administrative Vice President Steve Morris said Cincinnati State Chief of Police Mike Martinsen led efforts to prepare the successful grant application.

Planning for the new camera placements is underway. The plan will be shared with members of the Safety Committee before installation of new cameras.
