Welcome, new Brewing Science program chair

Aug 8, 2022

Caleb Ochs-Naderer has joined the Cincinnati State faculty as the Program Chair for Brewing Sciences in the Business Division.

Caleb takes over chair responsibilities from interim chairs Chef Betsy LaSorella and Chef Meg Galvin. The Brewing Science program offers an associate’s degree as well as two certificates: Brewing Sales and Marketing, and Brewing and Beverage Laboratory.

Before accepting his new role as a full-time faculty member, Caleb was an adjunct instructor for Brewing courses during the past year and a half.

Caleb has a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in history from Xavier University. He also holds a General Certificate in Brewing from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling and is a Cicerone Certified Beer Server.

Caleb worked as a middle school and high school teacher for several years before pivoting to the brewing industry, where he has more than seven years of experience. He has worked as a packaging line operator, cellar person, and brewer at Rhinegeist Brewery, 3 Points Urban Brewery, and Nine Giant Brewery & Kitchen.

Caleb said, “The opportunity to be a full-time instructor is the perfect blending of my two passions– education and brewing. I am beyond excited to help lead this program forward!”

Outside of work, Caleb and his partner, Christine, enjoy spending time with their two retired racing greyhounds.
