Help welcome new students at July & August events

With the start of Fall Semester approaching, Cincinnati State is assisting new students in getting a good start at New Student Welcome Days and Fast Track sessions.

New Student Welcome Days include a campus tour and opportunities to learn what to expect as a student, learn about College online systems and support services, get a Surge Card, visit the Bookstore, and get answers to questions about Cincinnati State.

Academic advising and class registration is not part of Welcome Day activities, but students learn how to set up an advising appointment and get other help with next steps.

Please encourage new students to register for a Welcome Day session using the link https://www.cincinnatistate.edu/welcome-day.

Welcome Day events will take place:

  • Thursday, July 28 – 5:30-8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 2 – 9-11:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, August 6 – 9-11:30 a.m.
  • Thursday, August 18 – 5:30-8 p.m.

Faculty and staff members who would like to assist at any of the Welcome Day events should contact Admissions at adm@cincinnatistate.edu.

For the first time in several years, the College is again offering Fast Track sessions where new students can get academic advising and help registering for classes, as well as other support.

The Business Division kicked off the return of Fast Track on June 29, with a session for students majoring in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, and Culinary & Food Science. Over 80 percent of students who had expressed interest in the session attended, and as a result 36 students registered for Fall classes.

The Admissions Office is currently working with College faculty, staff, and administrators to plan other program-specific Fast Track sessions:

  • Monday, August 8 – Fast Track for students majoring in Computer Support & Administration and Computer Network Administration
  • Wednesday, August 10 – Fast Track for Nursing students
