Commencement 2022 is May 7

Cincinnati State’s annual Commencement Ceremony is Saturday, May 7, at Xavier University’s Cintas Center. The ceremony begins at 3 p.m.

If you can’t attend in person, the ceremony will be available for live remote viewing at http://www.cintascenter.com/livestream.php.

Tickets are required for guests, but not for graduating students or College employees.

  • This year, 1,344 Cincinnati State students will receive associate’s degrees or certificates.
     
  • This year’s graduates include 30 area high school students who earned associate’s degrees while still high school through the College Credit Plus program.
     
  • George H. Vincent will receive an Honorary Degree and deliver the Commencement Address.
    • Mr. Vincent is the managing partner and chairman of Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, a national law firm based in Cincinnati. He is also chair of the Cincinnati State Board of Trustees.
  • The Student Address will be delivered by Cimarra Pierman, who will receive her associate’s degree in Nursing.
     
  • A Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented to William A. Neyer (’86, Manufacturing Engineering Technology). Mr. Neyer is the Mayor of the City of Harrison and the Superintendent of Public Works for Sunman, Indiana.
     
  • Faculty members who will be recognized during the ceremony include:
    • 2022 House/Bruckmann Faculty Excellence Award recipients Beth Hamon (Health & Public Safety), and Kathleen Pickens (Johnnie Mae Berry Library).
       
    • 2022 Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award recipients Jennifer Geiger (Engineering & Information Technologies), Debbie Greenlee (Humanities & Sciences), Kathryn O’Gorman (Business Technologies), and Felicia Rinaldi (Health & Public Safety).
