Learn more about “Student Lingo” online resource at Lunch & Learn on Mar. 25

Mar 21, 2022

Cincinnati State faculty and staff members are invited to learn more at a Lunch and Learn session on Mar. 25 about StudentLingo, a student success workshop portal now available at no cost to CState students.

  • StudentLingo is available because of Cincinnati State’s membership in SOCHE, the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education.

  • SOCHE has entered a partnership with Innovative Educators, the company that provides StudentLingo and other online services for orientation, support, and training.

  • Because of the partnership the StudentLingo resource, which is typically priced around $15,000 for organizations, is available to CState students for free.

SOCHE is hosting a virtual Lunch and Learn session for faculty and staff on “How to Leverage StudentLingo for Your Students’ Success,” on Friday, Mar. 25, from noon to 1 p.m.

  • You’ll learn how to use StudentLingo to help students close skill gaps, improve student retention, promote access and equity, support student mental health, and more.

  • Also, all lunch and learn attendees will receive a Starbucks gift card, courtesy of Innovative Educators.

  • Faculty and staff members who want to attend the Mar. 25 Lunch and Learn can join using this Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82792562376?pwd=VWtjYzhHcXJOV3JBK2QxT1BadVZmUT09.
    • Meeting ID: 827 9256 2376
    • Passcode: 938862
    • Call-In: (646) 558-8656

StudentLingo is a fully-hosted series of 50 online student success workshops designed to support student learning, personal growth, and health and wellness.

  • Workshop topics include Time Management, Stress Management, Study Skills, How To Take Tests Online, and more.

  • All StudentLingo workshops are closed-captioned in English and Spanish, include resources and activities for students, and provide certificates of completion.

Students, faculty, staff members, and parents of Cincinnati State students can create a StudentLingo account using the CState Career Center Events page, in the “On-Demand Programming” area.

  • You can also get started at https://www.soche.org/student-success-workshops.

  • To set up an account you’ll enter your First name, Last name, and College email address, and then Create a password.

  • Parents who set up a StudentLingo account will be asked to provide information on their College affiliation, and should select “Cincinnati State” and then select “other” for their role.
