Student Vax incentive Week 2 winners announced
Winners of the $250 prize drawing for Week 2 of the Spring Student Vaccination Incentive Program are Paige Bickle (Associate of Science) and William Lyons (Land Surveying).
- Paige (photo at right) said she got the COVID-19 vaccination because “I wanted to keep myself and those around me safe.”
- William said he had “medical reasons” for getting the vaccine.
More than 270 Spring Semester students have entered the Incentive Program as of the start of this week.
- 186 of the entrants reported getting booster shots.
- 33 students said they got a first vaccine dose after Dec. 14, 2021, and 52 students indicated getting their second vaccine dose since Dec. 14.
Students who received $100 prizes in the Mar. 9 drawing included:
- Kevin Brewer – Pastry Arts– “I want to be protected!”
- Abigail Evans – Interpreter Training – “I have a high risk sister and I wanted to do my part to help protect her, myself, and those around me.”
- Victoria Ford (left) – Human and Social Services – “I’m vaccinated to protect myself, my family, and others.”
- John Garvin – Welding – “I got vaccinated to be responsible.”
- Stephanie Heim– Nursing – “I’m vaccinated to protect myself, others, and especially those who cannot get vaccinated.”
- Jennifer Matson – Diagnostic Medical Sonography – “I got vaccinated to protect my health and the health of others around me.”
- Sita Sakho – Nursing – “I’m vaccinated because I want to keep my baby safe.”
- Joseph Snow – Electronic Engineering Tech – “I’m vaccinated because I work in hospitality.”
- Oscar Spille – Nursing – “I’m vaccinated to protect myself, my family, and the patients I care for.”
- Shannon Wilson (right) – Nursing – “I got vaccinated and boosted for my patients who may not be able to receive the vaccine and are compromised.”

- Students can fill out an eForm to enter the weekly prize drawing if they received a COVID-19 vaccine first dose or second dose after Dec. 14, 2021, or received a COVID booster shot anytime.
- Filling out the eForm means students are eligible to receive a $25 gift card, and they are immediately entered in the drawing for weekly prizes.
- Each Wednesday during Spring Semester 2 weekly prizes of $250 and 10 weekly prizes of $100 are awarded to students entered in the drawing.
- A grand prize drawing for $5,000 will take place Apr. 27.
On Mar. 23, an on-campus Clinic open to all students and employees will take place in ATLC 201 from 9 a.m. to noon.
- Technicians from Walgreen’s will provide first and second doses, and booster shots, of the Pfizer vaccine
- Walk-ins are welcome
- Those seeking a second dose or a booster should bring their vaccination card
Students also may receive the vaccine from any authorized provider and then fill out the eForm to receive a $25 gift card and enter the prize drawing.
