Where to walk safely on Clifton Campus

In a change to previous safety guidelines in effect on Clifton Campus, students and employees who need to travel from the A and B Wings of the Main Building to the Health Professions Building or the ATLC are now allowed to walk on the road behind Main that leads to the “roundabout” and the entrances to HPB and ATLC.

Vehicle traffic is still not permitted in this area, but for those on foot, there’s space on either side of the traffic barriers (as seen above) so walkers can proceed.

Campus Police Chief Dan Reid said signs have been placed on these barriers indicating that pedestrian traffic is allowed, but the weather and construction activities have caused repeated destruction/disappearance of the signs.

Chief Reid said replacement signage is again on order.

Other safety guidelines in effect for Spring Semester include:

  • The only entrances to Main that are open during business/class hours are the doors from Parking Lot D that go directly into the A and B Wings

  • All other doors are off-limits, as seen below

  • Driving and walking in front of the Main Building (the “flagpole” route) is still prohibited because of ongoing construction activities
