CState’s new-look website is live!

Feb 1, 2021

As of this morning, Feb. 1, Cincinnati State’s website at www.cincinnatistate.edu has a new, updated look and improved functionality.

The new website features navigation on the top of every page that makes it easy for current students, future students, and other visitors to find what they need.

In addition, the search function on the website has been improved.

  • Changes to the website DO NOT change the look or function of other College online resources such as MyCState, Colleague, the CIM and CAT curriculum databases, and the external Library resources pages. There is no change to the New Student online application form, either.

  • Some information on the website now appears in new locations—for instance, the link to MyCState is now part of the “Current Students” drop-down menu on the upper right side of the page.

  • The information on “Degrees & Certificates” pages of the new website continues to be drawn from the official approved information stored in the curriculum database maintained by the Academic Policies & Curriculum Committee (APCC).

Web and Digital Manager Amy Wagner, the project leader for the website changes, said site improvements and updates will continue after today’s launch.

“We will be adding vivid photography and engaging videos to many site pages throughout the year, as well as keeping the website content up to date,” Amy said.

  • Anyone with questions about the new website can get in touch with Amy at amy.wagner@cincinnatistate.edu.

  • Faculty members and other academic personnel with questions about information on the Degrees & Certificates pages should contact Pam Ecker, who maintains these website pages with the information that has been approved through the APCC review process.

Work leading to the website update has been in process for the past year.

  • Designers and technology experts from Orion Innovation partnered with Cincinnati State for design, planning, and implementation of a site that is engaging and easy to use for future and current students, as well as other visitors interested in learning about the College.

  • The CState team included an internal oversight group (listed below).

  • Input that contributed to the new site design was obtained from students, alumni, and internal stakeholders throughout the College.

VP of Workforce Development Amy Waldbillig, who provides oversight for College Marketing and Enrollment activities, said, “Our old website has been in use for a while, and it’s a good practice to ‘refresh’ organizational websites at least every five years.”

“Also, the technology that supported our old website was outdated, and we knew some elements of the site, like the search function, didn’t work well. It was definitely time to provide our internal and external audiences a new and more user-friendly website.”

VP Waldbillig also thanked the Website Core Team members for their work in support of the project:

  • Amy Wagner, Marketing – Project Lead
  • Kristin Donaldson, Advancement
  • Pam Ecker, Faculty/EIT
  • Lisa Lucas, Advising/HPS
  • Jason Moore, Enrollment Services
  • Jackie Norton, Marketing
  • Ed Oenbrink, ITS
  • Debbie Poweleit, Admissions
  • Krystal Wright, WDC
