Loaner laptop/hotspot program continues in Spring Semester

Nov 9, 2020

Students entering Cincinnati State in Spring Semester 2021 will continue to have access to on-loan laptop computers and personal Wi-Fi hotspots.

  • The College used some CARES Act funds to replenish the supply of computers available for loan to students. The additional computers are expected to arrive in December.

Students who are registered for Spring classes and don’t already have a computer and/or hotspot can request loaned equipment by following these steps:

Allow 2 days for form processing.

  • Students will be notified by email when their requested equipment is available

  • The student who reserved the equipment must pick it up in person, in ATLC Room 007 (Lower Level of the ATLC near the Welcome Center)

For help completing the eForm, call the IT Help Desk at (513) 569-1234.

Student requests for loaner equipment have grown since the program started in Spring Semester, after the College moved to all-remote operations.

  • In Fall Semester 2020, 197 laptop computers and 139 Wi-Fi hotspots have been distributed to students.

  • In Summer Semester 2020, 129 computers and 120 hotspots were distributed.

  • In Spring Semester 2020, when the loaner program began, distributed equipment included 95 laptops and 7 hotspots.

  • Students who are continuing to take classes have the option to renew their loan agreement, by filling out the next semester’s eform.
