Main Building Recovery Project – Progress Report for Oct. 2

Oct 2, 2020

Progress reports on the efforts to assess and repair damage to the Main Building will be provided regularly in Daily News.

Highlights for the past week, as reported by Vice President of Administration Lawra Baumann, include:

  • The College took delivery of 5 new boilers and is waiting for delivery of pumps and controls, and re-establishing of power requirements.

  • The source of the Aug. 31 water leak was confirmed as the fire loop water main that is underneath A Wing. Repairs to that water main have been completed and testing of the line is underway.

  • Partial power was restored to A and B Wings. This will make it possible to test lab equipment in these wings during the coming weeks, to assess any damage that may have occurred.

  • The damage to the primary back-up generator for the Data Center (the equipment that powers the College’s information technology services) has been repaired and successfully tested. Power for the Data Center equipment has been fully restored.
