Black Male Initiative organization supported cancer research

Cincinnati State’s Black Male Initiative student organization (BMI) recently presented a donation of $450 to the Barrett Cancer Research Foundation in support of continued cancer research.

BMI thanks everyone who contributed to their annual fundraising project in Fall Semester, which made the donation possible.

BMI advisor Bryan Dell said Jennifer Walters, the Director of Clinical Services at the Barrett Center at the University of Cincinnati, met with several BMI members when the donation was presented. She thanked the organization for their continuous efforts in raising awareness and supporting cancer research.

“Jennifer told us she would like BMI’s support for cancer research to be recognized in the Barrett Center’s newsletter,” Bryan said.

“The article to be published in the future will inform the newsletter’s thousands of readers about the hard work of BMI members as they balance academics, employment, and community outreach inside and outside of Cincinnati State.”
