December BOT meeting slides & recording posted

If you were unable to attend the Dec. 7 meeting of the College Board of Trustees, the video recording of the meeting is available on the College intranet.

Some of the topics discussed during the Board meeting included:

  • An overview of services offered at the Workforce Development Center (Evendale Campus), where the meeting took place.
     
  • The Financial Report from CFO Chris Calvert, including an overview of the Fiscal Year 2021 Audit Report.
    • The College’s net surplus as of the end of October is over $300,000 and the Senate Bill 6 score is 4.2 (on a 5-point scale).
       
    • Trustee Mark Walton, who serves on the Board’s Finance Committee, noted that the financial picture is “looking good now” but said the Board and administration need strategies for “headwinds that are coming” in future fiscal years.
  • A report from Provost Robbin Hoopes on program and department self-study activities and an update on the College’s application for approval to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at Cincinnati State.
     
  • A report from the Student Government Association on recent activities.
     
  • A report from the Faculty Senate on topics that were covered during a Senate discussion with President Posey on Nov. 19.
     
  • President Posey’s report included information about in-person activities taking place on campus in Fall Semester.
     
  • Board Chairperson George Vincent welcomed new Trustee Cynthia Booth and new Interim Vice President of Administration John Tafaro.
    • Mr. Vincent also said the Board would be discussing whether to change the start time of future meetings from the current 3:45 p.m. start.

The next Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for Jan. 25, 2022, in the Conference Center on Clifton Campus.
