Shannon joins Cincinnati State after a 20-plus-year career in nonprofit management. She maintains a private consulting practice specializing in nonprofit marketing and fundraising, including capital campaigns, grant writing, and interim executive staffing.

Prior to Cincinnati State, Shannon worked for nearly 15 years in the performing arts. She was responsible for generating millions of dollars in annual ticket revenue for opera companies and maintaining enduring corporate sponsor relationships.

Her contributions to the field include work in Santa Fe (NM), Washington D.C., Dayton and Columbus (OH), Tulsa (OK), and Atlanta (GA). She also served as head of marketing and communications for a large performing arts center at a public university.

As Senior Director of Business Intelligence at the Greater Omaha Chamber, Shannon worked regularly with local businesses and economists to attract new business investment to the region through data storytelling. Her special projects included working with the Urban League to measure the state of the region’s community and workforce equality for young professionals of color.

Most recently, Shannon managed capital campaigns for nonprofit organizations across the country as part of a private firm. Through managing all aspects of campaign strategy and execution, she helped her clients raise more than $15 million to build and maintain inspiring spaces.

Shannon holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Tulsa and an MBA from the University of Nebraska. Though she is a native of Omaha, she has adopted Atlanta as her hometown. Her hobbies include music, studying presidential history, and entertaining her 17 nieces and nephews.
